Danica Patrick PortraitDanica Patrick (born March 25, 1982 in Beloit, Wisconsin) is an American auto racing driver competing in the IndyCar Series. She was raised in Roscoe, Illinois. Patrick was named the Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series season. In May 2006, she published her autobiography, Danica: Crossing the Line. With her win in the 2008 Indy Japan 300, Patrick became the first woman to win an Indy car race.

Second-seeded Spaniard Rafael Nadal advanced to the third round of the Rogers Cup with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Jesse Levine on Wednesday. Levine, who was born in Ottawa before moving to the U.S. as a teenager, took advantage of a sluggish Nadal early. He broke the Wimbledon champion in the fourth game before taking a 4-1 lead in the first set.

Sixth seed Daniela Hantuchova, the runner-up in the East West Bank Classic three years ago, made an unexpectedly early exit on Tuesday night, losing to Olga Govortsova, 6-2, 6-4, as the second round of the WTA Tour event began without Serena Williams. Williams, the tournament's No. 2 seed, withdrew early in the day with a left knee injury.

Tournament referee Rob Wilkinson said officials became suspicious because the match involving Ukranian-born Anastasiya Korzh featured a "heightened number of questioned calls."
